Suzanne Weyn

American children's author. Born in 1955 in New York. She is a prolific writer who has penned over 50 titles in a wide range of genres. I am not sure what her connection is with horses, if any, but she has written a pony series, two books in the Breyer Stablemates series based on the model horses, plus a horse-related Barbie title!

Suzanne has her own website where you can find out more about her and her books.

Wildwood Stables Series:
A new pony series which seems to be aimed at young teens. Only the first two books have been published as yet.

1) DARING TO DREAM
(SCHOLASTIC PB [USA] 2010)
SUMMARY: Taylor Henry loves horses, but her single mother can't afford riding lessons, much less a horse. So when she discovers an abandoned horse and pony, Taylor is happy just to be around them. But the rescued animals have nowhere to go, and Taylor is running out of time to find them a good home. Could the empty old barn on Wildwood Lane be the answer? And could Taylor's wildest dream - of a horse to call her own - finally be coming true?

2) PLAYING FOR KEEPS
(SCHOLASTIC PB [USA] 2010)
SUMMARY: Taylor thinks Wildwood Stables is perfect - even if it needs repair and a lot more money, it's become a home to her and her new horse, Prince Albert. And as soon as Taylor trains Prince Albert to give lessons, Wildwood will be in business! But the gelding refuses to let anyone ride him except Taylor. Can she convince Prince Albert to earn his keep? Or will Taylor need the help of her worst enemy to save her beloved new home?

3) RACING AGAINST TIME
(SCHOLASTIC PB [USA] 2010)
SUMMARY: All of Taylor's hard work with Prince Albert is finally paying off, and both she and the horse feel at home at Wildwood Stables. But spoiled Plum Mason is still causing problems over-training her new horse Shafir. Can Taylor and the other Wildwood girls protect Shafir from the reckless rider?

4) LEARNING TO FLY
(SCHOLASTIC PB [USA] 2010)
SUMMARY: The big competition Taylor's been training so hard for is finally here, and everything is ready! But the week before the event, Prince Albert gets colic. Taylor is devastated: will she lose her dream of competing or much worse her beloved horse?

5) STEALING THE PRIZE
(SCHOLASTIC PB [USA] 2010)
SUMMARY: Taylor is thrilled to finally be in a real equestrian competition. But she's also nervous, and she doesn't want any distractions - like rich, bratty Plum Mason, who has insisted on entering with her horse too. Taylor loves a challenge, but does Plum have a plan to steal the show?

6) TAKING THE LEAP
(SCHOLASTIC PB [USA] 2011)
